Born in Medford, Massachusetts, USA in February or 1942, Michael Bloomberg is a famous businessman and politician. As the president of popular Bloomberg Media Company, he has become one of the richest people in the world with a net worth close to five billion dollars.
In 1964 Bloomberg attended Johns Hopkins University to study Electrical Engineering. After receiving his bachelor's degree he went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree at Harvard University.
After school and joining Salomon Brothers as a trader, Michael worked his way through the company and became a partner in 1972. In 1981, Bloomberg received a $10 million severance that he used to start Bloomberg LP.
Bloomberg Media provides daily business news. As the company grew it expanded into different forms of media including a business news service, Bloomberg business radio, Bloomberg business television station, Bloomberg Internet and various publishing operations.
In 2001, Michael Bloomberg was elected mayor of New York city after spending a record amount of money. He is now the 108th mayor of New York, taking the reigns from the previous mayor Rudy Giuliani.
